One example that Zinn agrees with Machiavelli is the idea of
force. Machiavelli gave the example of the monk who went somewhere without
force and was killed for bringing extreme ideas to the region, but the monk
that had power and the help of people, his ideas were spread. Zinn agreed with
this because you can’t go any ware without force and expect to change people
ideas.
